The i68++ is a recent version in the Sciphone run of phones. Almost the same as the previous generation i68+, but with normal upgrades in technology as well as easier production, is able to be offered at a cheaper price. It, like the hiphone and some others you may have heard of, are Chinese “clone” phones that attempt to portray the basic designed look of well known cell phones and then change different aspects (most often the inner components being cheaper to lower the price, not to mention having interesting new specs or features not seen originally).
This new version i68++ is a little surprising (in a good way), having ready to go unlocked GSM, with a responsive touchscreen control, a big and unexpectedly good screen resolution, soso playback of MP4 and MP3 files, decent (if old hat) internet ability via WAP, Java apps, as well as ever convenient pairing with Bluetooth devices for safety and fun.
As for the negatives they include, the i68++’s camera and digi vidcamera combo that offer very low res pics with a second strike being not having many photography options, the UI might be said to be a tad difficult to get used to, it an unfortunate lack of no physical QWERTY keyboard, and frustratingly the phone can’t achieve internet browsing at 3G (let alone EDGE) speed or with wifi. In the end, this is a ok purchase for a phone made by Chinese Shanzhai, but at US$73.79 (included with shipping), this option is a cheaper alternative than the more high end phones with a lot of the same specifications, features, and looks.
